I've been thinking a lot about the fact that fall is when most of the speaking opportunities for spring open up, and how often I see people bookmark places to pitch, start the application, get stuck on their pitch, and abandon all hope.

So I had an idea...two, actually. I want you to be ready to pitch when opportunities arise.

To help you with the pitch, I have put together a Pitch Fundamentals Workshop designed to help you draft pitches that ditch the "pick me" energy and really help curators see why you're the best fit for their audience.

The Pitch Fundamentals Workshop is 90 minutes dedicated to crafting a pitch that will get a curator to think, "Wow, our audience really needs to hear from Reader". My favorite part is that I'll walk you through my process so you don't need to write a whole new pitch every time! We'll talk craft, technique, and even have room for some hot-seat coaching.

And if you don't have a full talk created yet? No problem. If you have an idea of a talk you want to give, you can use what you'll learn in this workshop to give it a compelling shape. You can always write the talk after you land the gig, I promise. I do it all the time.

Second, if you're like me and the part where you tend to fall down is actually finding and sending the pitches, don't worry, I've got you. I also created an Implementation Sprint in September. A great pitch sitting in a Google doc won't get you on stage.

Over the course of 4 weeks, the Implementation Sprint is designed to help you take action by putting intention and process behind pitching your ideas. We'll look at finding opportunities, getting your speaker assets ready, and build out a process so you can put together an application with ease.

That's five weeks of support in getting your ideas out of your brain and onto the stage. The workshop is Tuesday, September 1st at 1:00 pm Eastern. The sprint starts the following week, September 8th, and runs through the end of the month.
